North American Fleets - US and Canada
It would be a stretch to call the Canadian and USA Devon Yawls a fleet, but with typical Yankee aplomb, our voice belies our size. Spread throughout the New England states, west to Ontario, and even further west to the Great Lakes, the classic DY lines have found favor with a number of us on the other side of the Atlantic.
In 2015, the Devon Yawl was recognized with a Performance Handicap Racing Fleet (PHRF) rating by a Canadian and American racing association, the DRYA. Active boats in the fleet included examples exported from England, some over over forty-five years ago, to more recent examples built in the USA by Classic Boats of Connecticut.
